Energy is a funny thing…

I have been in a bit of a slump recently. Some say it is the weather, and we have had an enormous number of rainy, cold days. Some say it the global energetic affect of the tragedy in Haiti.  But I think the real cause is people. I am around a lot of anxious, worried people… not just friends and family, but the people shopping with me in the stores, driving beside me on the roads, their voices ringing in my ears from TV and radio.  They are everywhere and there is an aura of fear and unease around most of them. It is permeating the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat. There is a cloud of this stuff hovering over all of us.

So what do we do? That is the easy part… just blow it away. You can do that with a positive thought or a gale force wind. The hard part is to remember to do it! You have to reactivate and reinforce the cleansing wind when you get up in the morning, throughout the day and before you sleep at night. This cloud of fear is insidious and highly infectious. All your good intentions for the day can get siphoned away one tiny drop at a time. You don’t notice it happening because it is so slow and steady. You just feel the effects in the bowing of your shoulders and the weight that drags at your feet.  If your conversations with others turn to fear, give loving energy in return.  Remember that the light of a smile is a ray of sunshine in the darkness of despair; a laugh is an open window of fresh air. Taking pleasure in each other’s company is a hidden hug of support for those around you.

We can’t solve the issues of unemployment or eliminate the energetic effects of a global catastrophe like Haiti. But a shared load is a lighter load. Share your loving energy with those around you, friends and strangers, with the earth and the universe.  All giving brings in gifts… just like sunshine diamonds on rippling water. Let the sunshine in your soul shine out in these days of such great need.
